Eating is a highly erotic and sensual experience, as is the whole metabolic and digestive process.
It is the meeting of another (food), union of universal energies, and Receiving of nourishment; of new light into every one of our cells.
We can cultivate and harness more energy from our food, by truly engaging with ourselves and our food in a highly present and calm way. When you eat, eat. Let that be what you are doing. Be right here, in this experience of union and nourishment.
Sometimes we can think that sensuality should be reserved for special occasions...
Wake it up!
Activate it in every moment. Allow your eyes to drink in your food, plumes of scent enter your nostrils, the sounds of your food squishing and crunching in your bowl and in your mouth awaken your ears and heart.
Take the time to really taste your food, allow your body to open, to fully receive the taste through all of your tasting and sense receptors in your mouth. Receive the pleasure, fully, when you recognise something as being delicious, pause for a moment and really let the sense of pleasure permeate through your whole body, go over the precipice!
Eating is an inner body experience. Ground yourself, and connect with your light essence and inner body before you begin eating.
It is important that both of your feet are touching the ground and your spine is unhindered. There is no need to be static, homeostasis is an ever-moving process, gentle movement of your sit bones and spine are good for releasing and bringing more consciousness into your body. A general sense of stillness is important while eating, as it allows your body to be resting in the para-sympathetic nervous system, the energy for running around goes quiet and more blood can go to your organs to allow for replenishment and digestion.
