Eating as guilty pleasure is counterproductive.
If you choose to eat something whether or not it is perceived as 'good for you' enjoy and cherish it with your whole being. This raises your vibration and allows the food to be assimilated. You can also have the intention of receiving the vital nutrition present (which may simply be the pleasure) and allowing all else to be efficiently metabolized and wastes to flow out of your body kindly and gracefully.
When you begin this kind of conscious eating, you will start to recognize foods which you perceive as delicious and comforting are actually dulling your senses, and getting in the way of you really feeling good!
Taste needs re-wiring. Go slowly, start eating more greens and fresh fruit and you will start to feel how thankful your body is, through the whole process of preparation, receiving the pleasure of eating, assimilating nutrients, graciously digesting and letting go.
A lot of processed foods are so loaded with 'tastes' that they overload and shock the system. Did you know that msg actually cuts the tastebuds? So the perceived desire to keep eating something because it is oh so good is actually your taste buds in hyper shock.
If you slow down and really engage your senses you will soon discover the complexity and grandeur of sensation available in an ordinary piece of fruit, especially if you realise that it is not ordinary but an incredible source of vital nutrients and life force. Your gratitude and appreciation of this simple piece of fruit actually allows for more of it's nutrition to be accessed and for the taste (and here i am talking about taste as a whole body whole digestive system experience) to increase. When you experience pleasure really open up to it, teach your body that it is safe to feel really good and you would like more of it, and it will come.
If you choose homegrown, biodynamic and organic fruits and vegetables you will notice a whole other level of vibrancy and of course taste! You are also supporting farmers and communities to really be appreciated for what they are doing. The more gratitude and love involved in the whole process from growing produce, degustation and digestion the higher levels of vibration and prana is available to your body and being so you can truly embrace what you are here for and have the energy to do it!
