"My son was talking to me a few days ago about the overwhelming sense of lack his generation feel through having so much on offer and no money to buy. Not only lack, but a sense of unworthiness, and powerlessness, a sense of being shut out of ‘reality’ with no room to grow and no direction to grow in.
Is it any wonder these kids are smashing shop windows and looting. These consumer products are touted as the reward for inclusion and they feel themselves to be the excluded, the unwanted and unworthy. They are a reflection of the way we treat our own young impulse towards new growth, channeling it along worn out pathways towards other peoples destinations rather than our own.
The Moon is in the Gate of Revolution – gate 49. This is a gate of endings, where we throw off the old regime, old habits and ways of being. It comes about when two forces see themselves as incompatible and each tries to change the other, rather than allow themselves to be changed. When we allow ourselves to be changed – in this case that means being open to receiving nourishment for our innocent selves –
the revolution is natural, peaceful and without rancour."
